The journal has been published since 2001, until 2012 its name was Vestnik of Pomor University. Series “Natural and Exact Sciences” and then, up to 2017, it was Vestnik of Northern (Arctic) Federal University. Series “Natural Sciences”.

The series is issued 4 times a year and presents publications on major research works in the fields of biology, ecology and geosciences.

The aims and scope of Arctic Environmental Research:

1. Providing an opportunity to scholars to publish their findings;
2. Drawing attention to the most relevant, promising and interesting areas of research in the Arctic and adjacent territories;
3. Exchange of academic information in the international academic space.

All the articles published in the journal are in open access.

AER is the peer-reviewing scientific journal, issued 1 time per year.
